This policy explains what personal information jinjja.shop collects, why, who we share it with, and how you can control it. jinjja.shop is operated by Pick by Kathy (ABN 74 605 877 560), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, the items you bought, and your order history. Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe — we receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of your card, never the full number.
When you create an account or wishlist: your login details and saved items.
When you contact us: whatever you include in the message, so we can reply.
Automatically: standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, collected through cookies and similar tools (see Cookies below).
Brand partners applying to sell on jinjja.shop give us business contact details, product information and signed agreements. This policy applies to that information too.
Why we use it
- To process, pack, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To send you order confirmations, shipping notifications and replies to your enquiries.
- To send marketing emails — only if you’ve opted in; every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations, including consumer, tax and record-keeping requirements.
Who we share it with — including overseas
We share only what each party needs to do its job:
- The brand partner(s) whose products you ordered, in South Korea — your name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered, so they can pack and ship. For single-brand orders the parcel goes straight to you, so the brand needs your address. Brand partners agree to use your details only to fulfil your order.
- Our parcel consolidation partner in Ilsan, South Korea — for multi-brand orders, your name, address and phone number so the combined parcel can be addressed and cleared through customs.
- Korea Post (EMS) and Australia Post — delivery details and, for customs declarations, a description and value of the goods.
- Stripe (payments) and buy-now-pay-later providers you choose at checkout — governed by their own privacy policies.
- Service providers that host the site, send our email, and store our files. Some of these are based in the United States.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — our product catalogue is synced to Instagram Shopping, and we use Meta’s tools to measure the effectiveness of our posts and ads (see Cookies).
- Authorities if the law requires it.
This means your personal information is disclosed to recipients in South Korea and, for some service providers, in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients protect it, but they are governed by the laws of their own countries.
We never sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar tools
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (cart, login, checkout) and tools that help us understand how the site is used and how our Instagram and Facebook content performs, including the Meta Pixel. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the essential ones are needed for checkout to function. You can control how Meta uses data collected about you through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as Australian tax and consumer law requires — generally 7 years. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, card details never touch our systems, and access to order information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (subject to records we’re legally required to keep). You can unsubscribe from marketing with the link in any email. Just write to hello@jinjja.shop — we’ll respond within 30 days, usually much faster.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, contact us first at hello@jinjja.shop and we’ll do our best to fix it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and update the date at the top.
